John McLaverty, John McLaverty & Associates

John McLaverty, Allied Counsel to KMA Consultants, has the privilege of combining two of his vocational passions: consulting with non-profit organizations to realize their dreams through philanthropy, and steering church systems through intentional transformation. As an experienced strategic leader, he has in-depth knowledge of fundraising and organizational life.

His career in planning and executing effective fundraising initiatives began with eight years as a Senior Consultant for the leading Canadian philanthropic consulting firm, KCI, Ketchum Canada. John now runs a philanthropic consulting boutique helping organizations achieve their goals

Projects managed directly by John include several hospital campaigns, Revenue Generation Audits for national organizations such as Oxfam Canada and The Canadian Bible Society, and philanthropic policy documentation and training in fundraising for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation of Canada and Pickering College. Other clients include environmental and educational organizations, churches and denominations.

John also served for more than 25 years as an ordained pastor in both Toronto and Vancouver.  For 10 years he taught as Adjunct Faculty at Tyndale Seminary. He and his colleagues have served on “both sides of the desk” and so understand your needs and can guide you through your unique challenges.

 

Gary MacDonald, Clearview Consulting

Gary MacDonald is Allied Counsel for KMA Consultants, and brings a strong track record in major gift and legacy program development as well as in-depth knowledge of non-profits across Canada.

Owner of Cleaview Consulting, for 38 years Gary has served in various executive leadership capacities in the non-profit sector at a local, provincial and national level. He designs and facilitates a variety of workshops through the Skills and Knowledge Centre at Loyalist College for government, business and non-profit clients. He is passionate in developing and coaching executive directors and non-profit boards in achieving their fundraising goals and leadership competencies.

He works alongside his wife Denise who is a professional therapist, specializing in marriage, family and individual counselling with an emphasis in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy, which they operate out of their equine centre in Stirling, Ontario.
